STOCKHOLM 21-22 February or 28 Feb-1 March
This two day class is a great beginners class because it’s almost like a spoon and bowl coarse all in one. The more advanced carvers will find a whole new toolbox of techniques and carving concepts.
Alex will teach you to become confident with your axe carving. He is showing technique to slice smooth curved lines as well as power chopping through thick end grain, and to develop an eye for forms with your axe. You’ll learn hollowing methods with different gouges and hooks, and finishing techniques that utilize various knife grips. You will learn about wood grain and orientation, and last but not least - Alex will share his methods of drying.
Kuksas can be an obstacle for a lot of people but Alex’s unique approach and technique will help demystify the process.
